Our top priority is to provide you, our members, with outstanding products and services. To achieve this goal Comala Credit Union must collect, maintain and use certain personal and financial information about you and your activities with us. We recognize and respect your privacy concerns and expectations about how we use this information, and we want you to know about our privacy policies and practices.

Even if you decide to close your account(s) and/or repay your loan(s) from us, or otherwise become an inactive member, any Member Information we have about you will remain subject to the policy and practices described in this Member Privacy Statement. Please read it carefully and keep it for your records.

Information We Collect About You

We do not gather, collect, or maintain any information about you that can identify you as an individual except for such services as you make information available. We collect non-public personal information about our members and other consumers only for lawful business purposes, or as otherwise required by applicable law. Some of the categories of non-public personal information which we collect from you are:

• Information you provide on applications to become a member
• The fact that you are, or have been, one of our members or have obtained a financial product or service from us
• Applications to obtain loans or other financial products and services
• Account balance information, payment history, overdraft history, and debit card purchase information
• Our online loan application service
• Our online check order service
• Transactions with non-affiliated third parties, such as information we or our agents obtain in compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and other applicable law, or information listed on your credit report

Other Data We Collect

In some cases we collect general data about users of our website, for statistical purposes only. This data is not personally identifying. For example, we collect data on the day of the week and time of day that visitors are viewing our site. We do not share any of this information with other parties unless we have specifically contracted with for the purpose of improving the overall member experience on our website.

Member Information We Share with Others

We may disclose non-public personal information about you that we collect as described above to the following types of third parties:

• Financial service providers, such as dealers and insurance agents to administer products and services we provide or as permitted by law
• Companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements
• Companies requesting verification of the existence and conditions of accounts

We follow NCUA guidelines and applicable laws, and we limit the information we provide to what is necessary to accurately represent your relationship with us. We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our former members to anyone, except as permitted by law.

In order to conduct the business of the credit union, we may disclose non-public personal information about you under circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, to follow your instructions as you authorize, or to protect the security of our financial records.

Comala does not disclose or sell member information to telemarketing companies. We may enter into other strategic alliances with financial service companies in the future to improve our ability to offer competitive products and services to our members. Any future alliance that includes sharing personal information will follow the privacy practices described in this notice.

Information Security Practices

We take reasonable precautions to protect non-public personal information that members, former members, and other consumers provide to us. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to: our employees; employees of our affiliates; and the non-affiliated third parties identified above who need to know that information in order to provide products or services to you, to collect delinquencies, or to otherwise appropriately deal with your accounts. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect your non-public personal information.

Notices and Joint Relationships

Except where expressly required by applicable law, we will provide all notices to the member who is listed first on the account. Notices will be mailed to the address on the account. If the member has agreed to receive notices and disclosures electronically, then we may send all such notices and notifications to the email or Internet address provided by such member. All joint owners, borrowers, and guarantors agree to the receipt and sufficiency of any notice or notification sent in accordance with the terms of this paragraph. You can help to protect your privacy by using caution when disclosing your account number, social security number, etc. Keep your information with us current. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Comala Credit Union does not knowingly collect, maintain, use nor disclose personal information from our website about Kirby Kangaroo Club members or the CU Succeed Teens Financial Network. We may use a child's online contact information to respond on a one-time basis directly to that child, to notify parents or guardians, or seek parental consent.

Opting Out

If you prefer that we not disclose non-public personal information about you to non-affiliated third parties, you may opt out of those disclosures – that is, you may direct us not to make those disclosures (other than disclosures permitted by law).
